Since its inception the department's faculty has included an internationally respected diplomat and former ambassador from Haiti to the United Nations, Dr. Yves Auguste; an Emmy-award winning television producer and journalist, Gil Noble, award-winning New Jersey educator, Dr. Julia Miller and former member of the board of directors of the Association for the Study of Afro-American Life and History, Jeanette Cascone.
