Admissions

Applicants, other than dual-degree candidates, must have a baccalaureate degree, preferably in a history-related field, including political science, geography or economics. Students who have majored in other fields may be asked to take up to four undergraduate courses in history.
 
Applicants must submit:

  • the Seton Hall University Graduate Application
  • a personal statement
  • three letters of recommendation
  • Graduate Record Exam (GRE) scores.

The deadline for graduate applications is July 1 for the fall semester. Applications for research/teaching assistantships are due by March 15. Applications are also accepted for the spring semester and are due by November 1.
