Overview

Seton Hall University's online R.N. to B.S.N. program is offered through the College of Nursing, one of the region's most prestigious academic institutions. The College of Nursing established New Jersey's first baccalaureate nursing program in 1937 and has provided quality education for more than 65 years. In 1975, the College established the graduate program to address the needs of modern healthcare delivery and the in-depth preparation necessary to educate nursing professionals. The College is fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The undergraduate nursing programs are also accredited by the New Jersey Board of Nursing.

A B.S.N. from a Real University
As a student in the online R.N. to B.S.N. program, you truly get the best of both worlds: a dynamic Web-based learning experience grounded in the history and tradition of Seton Hall University, a more than 150-year-old institution of higher learning. Faculty within the University's on-campus R.N. to B.S.N. program teach online courses, bringing you a high-quality online program that culminates in a baccalaureate degree from a university that is fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. The curriculum is identical to the campus-based R.N. to B.S.N. program. Similarly, your diploma is the same as those given to our on-campus students. You can advance your career all according to your own schedule.

Who Should Apply?
This program is designed for registered nurses (R.N.s) who wish to advance their careers while balancing their education with career, family and personal responsibilities. R.N.s who graduated from hospital – based school of nursing programs (diploma) or community college nursing programs (associate degree) are eligible to apply. Eligible students wishing to accelerate to the MSN program have an option to complete 6 credits of graduate studies as part of the program.

Courses and Residencies
Advance standing (transfer credits) will be granted to eligible college-level coursework. Nine (9) nursing courses (32 credits) are completed online. Some of the courses have a clinical component. The program requires two on-campus weekend residency visits. The first residency weekend is orientation. This weekend provides students with opportunities to meet fellow classmates, faculty, and program administrators. Students also participate in computer training sessions and learn about course access, online student services and university resources. A mid-program residency is devoted to project presentations and sessions on professional role function and development. Upon completion of the program, students are invited to participate in the College of Nursing Pinning and Hooding Ceremony and the University's Commencement activities.

Technology
The Internet and Web-based learning have changed the rules of the game for working professionals. Through the online R.N. to B.S.N. program, you can take advantage of Seton Hall University's leadership in online education to get ahead in your career, wherever there is an Internet connection or wireless hot spot.
