Three online graduate certificates in Strategic Communication and Leadership are offered through SetonWorldWide. Each program focuses on the critical areas of strategic communication, leadership, vision, organizational culture, change management, team building and teamwork, and diversity and globalization. The certificate programs provide the knowledge, skills and abilities that modern professionals need to succeed and grow their organizations.

Who Should Apply?
The SetonWorldWide Graduate Certificate in Strategic Communication and Leadership is designed for individuals who:

  1. would like to explore a career in communication;
  2. already have a graduate degree but have a need to develop specific communication and leadership skills; and/or
  3. would like to enroll in a selected set of graduate communication and leadership courses, but do not want to commit to enrolling in the Master of Arts in Strategic Communication and Leadership degree program.

Tuition
The cost per credit for the SetonWorldWide Online Graduate Certificate in Strategic Communication and Leadership  is $778. The total program cost for the 14-credit certificate is $10,892, which includes all fees and miscellaneous expenses, tuition, room and meals for an on-campus weekend residency. Expenses not included in tuition are the application fee, books, travel to and from the residency, computer equipment, software, and Internet access.

Online courses or those taught under comprehensive fee-based structures are not eligible for tuition discounts.

Course Descriptions
COMM 8520: Strategic Communication and Leadership focuses on the practical and theoretical applications of dynamic and transformational and ethical leadership: creating and communicating vision and values, inspiring others to act, risk  management, empowerment, building trust and teamwork,  mentoring, managing change and converting crisis into opportunity. (6 credits)

COMM 8521: Organizational Culture, Leadership and Change evaluates the impact of organizational culture to enable the successful leader to be the architect of organizational change. It examines organizational culture, introducing new strategies, aligning vision and goals, establishing organizational values, enabling open communication for empowerment, implementing change, creating an ethical organizational culture and succession planning. (6 credits)

COMM 8522: Leadership Communication Strategies emphasizes the communication process with particular focus on negotiating, inspiring others, presentation skills, speech writing, interviews, working with the media and crisis communication. These skills are key to the success of any executive. (6 credits)

COMM 8523: Opportunities of Diversity and Globalization examines diversity in all of its forms as well as globalization with its many workplace, leadership, ethical and communication issues. Communication challenges in the diverse workplace and global marketplace are identified as opportunities for organizational enrichment. (6 credits)

COMM 8525: Communications Excellence I: Individual Skills Coaching aids learning team members in developing personal communications skills through individual coaches who assist with interpersonal, speech presentation and writing skills. (2 credits)
