Overview

Seton Hall University's online Master of Arts in School Counseling is a 48-credit graduate program for students who are preparing for a career as a school counselor for grades K-12.  Offered through the College of Education and Human Services, which is accredited by the National Council of Excellence in Teacher Preparation, the program is approved by the New Jersey Department of Education and leads to certification as a school counselor, grades K-12. Students may also continue on in their studies through pursuit of a 60-credit online Ed.S. in Mental Health Counseling.

Who Should Apply?
Students who desire to work as a counselor in a school system (grades K-12) and those who are currently serving as a classroom teacher and would like to advance their careers should apply to this program. No prior experience or teaching certificate is required.

Courses and Residencies
The online M.A. in School Counseling program is a 2 to 2-1/2 year, 48-credit online program spread over eight semesters. The program includes 16, three-credit courses as well as two on-campus weekend residency visits, which afford you the opportunity to meet face-to-face with SetonWorldWide professors and your peers in the program. All coursework, including the clinical experience, is completed online.
