This workshop will introduce you to some of the features of Adobe Acrobat 8, a software product that comes pre-installed on your laptop and allows you to create and edit pdf documents. Learn how to convert Word, PowerPoint, and Excel files to pdf format with the click of a button.

The session will also illustrate how add pdf documents to your blackboard course.

Facebook: Meet Your Students Where They Are (Beginner)
Join us as we discover Facebook, a social networking site, and it's implication in higher education. While student profiles are ubiquitous on Facebook, more and more faculty are joining the popular site. During this hands-on workshop we will create a Facebook account, explore ways to push content and announcements to your students, discuss how to create a Fan page for your course, and review the new Sync feature in Blackboard that synchronizes Facebook with your Blackboard course and allows you to send announcements to students.

Come and learn how to create a Facebook page (that is separate from your Facebook profile) for a course or department, We will discuss the implications of using Facebook in your course, view examples of Facebook pages, and discuss how other universities are using Facebook.
