The upbeat, syncopated rhythm of the Jazz age is back with Vince
Giordano, who has been the leader of The Nighthawks for thirty years.
Still going strong with their passion for early jazz, The Nighthawks
are swooping in to leave their mark on the Seton Hall community in
South Orange. They will be performing at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November
20 at the South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC). General
admission tickets are $25, seniors and alumni are $15, and students are
$8. Call the SOPAC box office at (973) 313-278 to order your tickets
today.
Raised in Brooklyn, Vince Giordano has been listening to `20s jazz for
as early as he can remember. His 11 piece big-band has been performing
all over the country and has brought in numerous fans with its
authentic, vibrant sound reminiscent of the roaring `20s and
flirtatious `30s. Playing in “The Big Apple” at least twice a week,
many fans come to dance and enjoy a fun night out in New York City with
their favorite jazz band. Performing frequently at Cajun, located in
downtown Manhattan, Vince Giordano’s Nighthawks rock the dance floor
while enjoying the restaurant’s New Orleans cuisine.
The band also continues to perform numerous shows throughout the
country, successfully entertaining hundreds of audiences. Giordano and
The Nighthawks have made quite a number of guest appearances, most
frequently heard on Woody Allen Soundtracks and also with the Woody
Allen Jazz Band. The Nighthawks have also accompanied artists such as
Bette Midler, Kathy Lee Gifford, Daryl Sherman, and even worked on
Broadway with Madonna! Having made a film appearance in The Aviator and
worked on the soundtrack for Family Guy, Vince Giordano and The
Nighthawks are ready to bring their upbeat rhythms to South Orange for
a night of fun. For information on this concert and other events
