Student Community-Based Research Fellowships offered by CCRE
Seton Hall > News & Events

Community-based research (CBR) is public scholarship – rigorous research as a form of service to the public good (Peer Review, Winter 2006). This type of research involves scholarly engagement in the community that is aggressively linked with learning and service.

The Center for Community Research and Engagement (CCRE) is pleased to announce fellowships for upper-level undergraduate and graduate students in the area of community-based research. A stipend of $2,500 will be awarded to students to develop and conduct community-based research projects. Projects may be undertaken during the academic year or in the summer and must be conducted under the direction of a Seton Hall University faculty advisor. Applications are now being accepted for the fellowships. Anyone interested in applying should review the attached Request for Proposals (RFP) and submit the application. Applications are accepted throughout the year.

The Center for Community Research and Engagement (CCRE) was created in 1997 to coordinate the activities of Seton Hall University as it implements service learning and community-based research on campus. CCRE's mission is to develop partnerships that integrate Seton Hall University faculty, students, staff and our neighboring communities through applied research, active learning, and action projects, aimed at enhancing both the learning environment and community capacity.
